Sacrament Talks

The day before Bryan and I left for Washington we got called by the 2nd counselor in the bishopric to give talks today. We seriously considered changing our christmas plans and coming back tomorrow so we could miss Sunday. We decided against it and now hopefully we won't have to give another talk for a year :) Our topic was Mosiah 2:17 - "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."
Bryan concentrated his talk mostly on the New Testament and Christ's example and some personal stories. (Matthew chapter 8-9)
And I concentrated on 3 talks in the Ensign. Elder Wirthlin's, The Great Commandment; Elder Cuthbert's, The Spirituality of Service; and President Monson's, The Gift of Compassion.

If you want even more spiritual uplift, check out the chapters and talks we studied on service. I know we shouldn't pick favorites - but I have to admit that Elder Wirthlin's was my favorite (link #2). I was glad that we decided to come home and learn about service. I'm even more glad that it's over :)

Congrats Kim and Kyle!

The most exciting present Christmas morning was kim and kyle’s. Before they left Seattle they had an ultrasound to find out the sex of their baby. They had the doctor put the sex of their baby in an envelope and seal it. kim was hoping for a girl and kyle was hoping for a boy. Well congrats on the Baby Boy! Kim was sad for just a bit and then she was just excited to be having a boy :)

Christmas in Washington

This was my first Christmas not with the Bagleys. It was fun to see how different families celebrate in different ways. I was sad that I didn't get to make a gingerbread house though :( We spent a whole week with the Attridge's. We left the Friday before Christmas and we just flew back two days ago. All the kids came home so it was a full house. Bryan and I were lucky enough to have one of the bedrooms :) Adam and Michelle and their kids Kaden and Maci live in Bryan's hometown as well as Jill and Scott so there were four of the six kids staying at the Attridge home. Kelli's living at home right now but sadly she was kicked out of her room. Kim and Kyle are living in Seattle and they had to sleep on a blowup bed in the family room. Bry and I flew in from Utah and Dave and Amy and their baby Addelyn surprised everyone by flying in from Arizona. It was nice to have everyone there.

We spent most of the break learning how to play Guitar Hero. It's kinda an awesome game - it feels like you're actually playing the guitar. I know I know Bryan and I are a little behind the times by just now playing Guitar Hero. Kyle brought the game and he is a pro - incredible to watch. Our nephew Kaden who's 6 is so good too. I didn't think a 6 year old could do it - but he could.

Christmas morning was so fun. We woke up at 7 and opened all our presents and then we played for awhile until the big family dinner. Bryan has a ton of extended family in Okanogan so we had to have dinner at the church to hold us all. Jill came up with the idea to have the first annual ugly christmas sweater contest at the dinner. There were some seriously ugly sweaters involved.

At the dinner we took tons of family pictures. And Rae is known for wanting some family pictures of just her kids. Kyle decided that we should have a family picture of just the outlaws. It was really funny.

We went and saw I Am Legend and National Treasure 2 at the theatre and we went bowling. I took a couple pics of people after they got a strike or a spare. Our nephew Kaden is so cute. He was having so much fun bowling.

All in all Christmas was great. I'm so glad we were able to fly to Okanogan and see the fam. I don't know when all of us will be together again - but I'm looking forward to it!

Fall Semester 2007 Completed!

It has been stressful in the Attridge Home with school projects and finals and trying to get ready for christmas. Bryan and I don't have our grades back from all of our assignments and tests but I think we did pretty well. I am happy to report that I only have one semester left of college and then a class :) This was a fun semester in our new apartment but I'm glad it's come to an end. For my sociology of adolescence class we had to read a book aimed at teens and then do a creative book report on it. I read I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter. It was actually a pretty good spy novel for a teen book. I decided to make a teen magazine for the book report and title the mag espionage. Here are a few pics of my report

Happy Thanksgiving . . . a month ago

This year Thanksgiving was at Cindy and John's home. It's funny how things can change in a year. Last year Bryan and I had thanksgiving at Cindy and John's but it was just the 4 of us and Cin and I made all the food - even the turkey :( This year there were 13 of us (mom, dad, heather, jeff, aubrey, elliot, katie, cindy, john, j.j., summer and bry and I). We split up the cooking which was nice - no handling of turky. I made a spinach salad and mashed potatoes. I also made place cards for everyone. It was a really fun gathering - and we kept up with the grandpa bagley tradition of going around the table and saying what we're thankful for. Poor dad was sick with a cold so he had to wear a mask to keep the babies from getting sick. He still looked cute though!!! I can't wait to see how big our family will be for next thanksgiving :)

HaPpY BiRtHdAy BrYaN!

A quarter of a century old . . . tomorrow! When Bryan got home tonight I had all his presents sitting out and he just couldn't wait till the morning to open them. I got him a Samsung Home Theatre system to match his Samsung 50 in. Plasma (he picked out the home theatre system - I'm not gonna lie), 2 pairs of jeans, pj bottoms, a robe and moccasins (he's been really wanting a pair since he saw Adam Sandler wearing them on Conan)! Happy Birthday! He's gonna be the best dressed sleeper with all his new gear :) The home theatre system wasn't in stock so the picture of Bryan holding a piece of paper is the receipt for the system. He'll get it on Friday!
