Adam

I have wanted to see the movie Adam since I saw the preview (which I saw when I went to 500 Days of Summer!). Adam really is such a touching story.

Here is the synopsis on Yahoo:
Adam is a handsome but intriguing young man who has all his life led a sheltered existence -- until he meets his new neighbor, Beth, a beautiful, cosmopolitan young woman who pulls him into the outside world, with funny, touching and entirely unexpected results. Their implausible and enigmatic relationship reveals just how far two people from different realities can stretch in search of an extraordinary connection.

This was one of those previews that I saw and I knew I had to see the movie. It is just such a great film. Part of the intrigue of the movie is that Adam has Asperger Syndrome.

I really would suggest seeing this movie.....along with 500 Days of Summer :)

**There is one love scene - which is short and pretty tasteful. And one inappropriate language scene - which has 2 strong swear words. Rated PG-13

Christmas Celebrating

I generally like to give Thanksgiving the respect it deserves. So, I don't decorate for Christmas until Thanksgiving is over and I tend to hold off on Christmas music and movies until Thanksgiving is over as well.

But, I must be excited for Christmas because we've already watched a Christmas movie. On Tuesday Night we watched Fred Claus with Summer & Steve and Elliot & Katie. If you remember my post from last year. . . .Fred Claus is one of my favorite Christmas movies. I feel like I could watch it anytime of the year and thoroughly enjoy it :)

So if you haven't seen this movie - you need to!

Double Feature Weekend

This weekend we hit up He's Just Not That Into You on Friday night with Summer and Steve and then on Saturday we went to Australia with Conrad and Kali. I enjoyed both of the movies but maybe He's Just a little more. I didn't have too high of expectations for the movie because it's just a chick flick but I actually really enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty funny :) Australia was good as well but maybe I was in a light hearted mood this weekend because He's Just fit my needs a little better. It was a pretty rockin movie weekend

Loves and Likes of the weekend

Bryan and I have been without a printer at home for oh too long to even remember how long it's been. I did some research on Saturday and we went out and bought a printer/scanner/copier/fax. I love that we now have a printer at home again and are even more connected to the world :)

I was so psyched about the purchase that as soon as we got home I got the printer all set-up. The printer is just a like for me. I don't know if it's just warming up to being in the family but it doesn't always grab the paper - kind of a must since that is its purpose of being (grabbing the paper and producing whatever it is I want it to produce). But at least we have a printer now and I have a feeling that we'll become much better friends!

On Saturday night we decided to hit up Red Robin and take advantage of its dinner and movie deal (as you can see from the sidebar there are a lot of movies I want to see right now). Right after we put our names down some friends of ours showed up and were planning on going to the same movie so we had dinner and went to the movie together. I loved that we got to hang out with Brian and Kellie because we haven't seen them in forever and I got to see her cute little pregnant belly.

We went to Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler and a fave of mine Courtney Cox Arquette. I liked the movie. I thought it was cute but maybe not my favorite movie I've seen in the last few months. Still a fun movie.

I love that this Sunday was ward conference. We had a really great sacrament meeting. Bryan and I met with our stake president a few months ago to renew our temple recommend and I find our stake president to be a really incredible man!

I was a little sad though that I had to miss out on hearing the Stake Relief Society Presidency talk to our ward because I'm in Young Women's in a different ward :( But I do like knowing that when the ward that I'm in the young women's has ward conference I'll get to take advantage of hearing the Stake Young Women Presidency talk to the girls!

Marley & Me

I can not believe how many movies are in the theatre right now that I want to see!!
We went to Marley & Me last night. I thought it was a cute movie, but. . . . I'm not a dog person, so I don't think I'd ever be able to get into it as much as someone that loves dogs. I was entertained though and I do love Owen Wilson and Jennifer Anniston

Incredible Movie!!

We went into this movie having no idea what to expect or even what is was really about. I was extremely pleased. I won't go into details, but I do recommend it very highly!!

Harry Potter

Bryan and I are one of those odd couples that had never gotten into the Harry Potter books or movies. I watched the first movie and didn't really like it, so I had no desire to see any of the others. But Bryan's always wanted to watch the movies because as he says, "harry potter is so huge and a part of not just our culture, but the worlds, that we probably shouldn't go through life not knowing what the whole thing is about. . . ."

Last weekend all of the movies were on TV. So. . .we watched the second, third and fourth. I have to say that I am a bigger fan after seeing those three movies. I actually was excited when we would start the next movie. I'm not saying that I'll be there opening night in July 2009 for the Half Blood Prince - but I am glad that I have participated in this important part of our culture :)

My new favorite Holiday movie. . . for the week anyway

Bryan and I missed this movie coming out last year, but have wanted to see it. We finally rented it - and I L-O-V-E it!!!! It's kindof a little kid movie (so a little silly at times) but I loved the message. It seriously brought me tons and tons of holiday cheer :) Plus - no movie can go wrong with Vince Vaughn. Anyway, if you're looking for a fun and touch your heart kinda movie - watch this one!

Twilight

Cindy and I are infamous for going to bed early. . . so there was no staying up till midnight for Twilight! But we did with our very kind husbands go on Friday afternoon!!

Overall experience - pleased. I thought there was some horrible acting at times, some awful casting (Rosalie & Jasper), and not a lot of development. . . But, I did like getting back into the story, and there was some fantastic casting (Edward, Bella & Alice), and some really funny and creative parts.

I think that anyone that didn't read the book would have zero idea what was going on (because of the lack of development) - but I enjoyed it because I did read the book.

I'm going to read the first book again and then see the movie again - and I'll see if I change my mind on anything.

Again - overall pleasant experience (with some heartfelt moments)

The FINAL Twilight Trailer part 2

I'm lame and I tend to head to Stephenie Meyer's website to get updates on the movie and such. . . and I found that the trailer is completed and set to start airing (is that how you spell it?) - love it! I hope the movie is at least somewhat as good as the books. I'll probably be there on Nov 21st with all the 14 year olds on opening night! Lame I know - but I dig it ;) Enjoy the FINAL Twilight Trailer below :)

Just head to the "video" tab and the first video is the REAL and FINAL trailer!
